MISiS National Research Technology University is one of the country’s most dynamic research and development centers. Among the leading places in technology training in Russia, MISiS also represents an official scientific research center.
Within its walls, people are being trained in demand in the domestic and foreign markets – professionals in the field of metallurgy, nanotechnology and new materials, information technology, automated control systems, eco-and energy-saving technologies, economics, and management.
The university currently has more than 17,000 students.
The university has more than 30 laboratories and 3 world-class technical centers with leading international scientists.
The University has successfully carried out basic research and its application in all priority research areas approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. This helps MISiS not only occupy a leading position in the Russian technical education system but also confidently integrate into the global academic space.
In 2017, the university consolidated position in the top international education rankings, taking over 60 in the World University Rankings and 501-550 in the QS World University Rankings. Also in 2017, for the first time, MISiS entered the subject rankings of THE, QS and ARWU for the first time in six fields, ranked 31st in the world for Engineering – Mining ranking and reached TOP-100 in Engineering – Metallurgy category “. MISiS is rapidly expanding international relations, using the best of domestic and foreign experiences, opening up modern laboratories to share advanced developments with the international community.
